I wonder how many of you heard about the show OTANGO .Just imagin if the Argentine Tango is big in Melbourne; how nice it would be to attract such a fantastic show to be lively seen in our own city. What a boost to the tango itself it would be.Unfortunatly it is not so, the other option is to pack your bag and go and see it in Belguim or Italy,where they do a better job then us in attracting new people in tango.

N.B -Latin Noun Gravitas ; As a modern loanword conveys a sense of substance or depth of personality. As in Ancient Roman Context - the word Gravitas comunicated a sense of dignity,seriousness and duty.Gravitas is one of the virtues of Ancient Romans society,expected men to posess along with Pietas and Dignitas. Off course it has nothing to do with gravity.

Tango Gravitas represents a new generation of Argentine tango dancers who strive to push the bounderies of artistic creativity while still holding strong to the fundamentals of traditions.Firmly grounded in the Argentine roots of the dance's conseption, it emphasizes the intrinsic concept of partner connection,leading and following,musical interpretration and the classic tango aesthetic.Tango Gravitas places primary importance on the silent discourse between the man and the woman,who unceasingly comunicate through their movements and through the music.It embraces an inovation and experimentation which can be realized only through this constant interplay between leader and follower who share in the responsability of listning and reacting to each other to the music and to the other dancers sharing the dance floor . As it was promised the transition was quick and smooth. We have a place now with all the warmth we need to enjoy our continuous Thursday Gathering (milonga) and dance with the best selection of Tangos from Buenos Aires to challenge our emotions.Pictures from our first night in the new place.

TANGO BIEN HAVE A NEW HOME

WE are moving from Kensington to East Brunswick after we had a good three months dancingTango or shall we say a "little nostalgia from Buenos Aires."Very nice Enviourment as if we were there dancing with the milongueros.Unfortunatly things keep on changing but for the better.The Old Town Hall had it's problems too bieng a heritage place and were limited in doing things. Now we support this place because it can be our home for a long time.Your support is eveything.It means everything to Tango Bien We can build a club with an enviourment only of warm friendly people who collaborativly help each other to understand what is the Argentine Tango and how it touches us and never let go. Some say it takes two to Tango I say;" It takes who to Tango " Tango Bien will open the doors in this venue on Thursday 2nd of November 2006. from 8.00pm .Good Luck.
